Ollie's Story

***CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE***

Ollie is just over 15 years old, a total lovebug, and the absolute best boy! This big, orange tabby guy loves to be pet and to get lots of attention, and the adorable little smirk on his face is sure to make you smile. Admittedly a bit nervous and stressed in the shelter environment, Ollie is longing for a safe and comfy home where he can lounge in the sun and to be spoiled by a loving family.

Ollie was transferred to HART from one of our partner rescues in New England because he is diabetic, and we have a lot of experience in successfully caring for diabetic cats. His diabetes is currently well-managed with a low-carb, canned food only diet (in our shelter, we feed Fancy Feast Classic Pate), and regular blood glucose monitoring. We will require that his adopter has a well-established relationship with a veterinarian as well as experience caring for senior cats with medical needs. Our Medical Team will provide his adopter training in the care of a diabetic cat (it's easier than you think!), along with a blood-glucose testing kit, a vial of insulin with related supplies, and a generous starter amount of canned food. In order to make these preparations, he won't be able to go home on the same day that you meet him. Ollie truly has the kindest and most gentle soul, and we encourage you to come and meet this fabulous cat in Room 4!

Go to our website, www.hartofme.org, to submit your online application today!

***FKA = Formerly Known As
