Ollie's Story

Meet Ollie a friendly, lovable orange and white tabby along with many other cats were in a home, allowed to breed uncontrollably, and when the elderly owner died, no one to care for the cats. These indoor cats were forced out of the home into the outside with no shelter, food, water, etc. A terribly sad situation. Trappers were able to trap many cats and 10 of them have made their way to Second Chance.

Currently Ollie is in foster care. His foster Mom has this to say "Ollie is one of the most affectionate cats I’ve ever met; he just wants to be your little buddy. Whether working, relaxing, or going to bed, he’ll be right there curled up next to you or draped across your lap, purring nonstop. He’s a professional snuggler with a signature move: fully relaxed, arms stretched out, just hanging/melting over whatever he’s laying on. When he wants attention, he doesn’t hesitate. He’ll gently push his head right into your hand. He’s never had any accidents, has no interest in escaping out the front door, and every once in a while he’ll get a burst of zoomies (usually at night). If you want a constant, loving companion, Ollie is your guy".

Ollie would be great for any type of adopter as he has a sweet, laid back nature which would make him great with kids. He would also do well with a single adopter or couple. Ollie would do best as an only cat as he is not too fond of other felines. Ollie is jolly though and one great guy!

Once you have an approved application, a visit can be set up at the foster home for a meet and greet.

Ollie has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Ollie has an approximate birthdate of 01/01/2024. His adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Ollie or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
