Olivia's Story

Olivia is #ADOPTABLE from her Foster Home in Nanaimo. Please email adoptions@catnapsociety.com after reading her write up to discuss applying for and meeting Olivia.

Female, domestic short hair, tortoiseshell

Meet Olivia!

(A.K.A. Livie, as her foster mom calls her)

Are you ready to welcome a sweet, loving cat into your home and heart? Olivia is a playful, affectionate, and curious kitty who’s looking for her forever family!

This confident girl loves attention and is happiest when she's with her humans—whether that's soaking up pets, flopping down for belly rubs, curling up for a nap nearby, or simply being part of your day.

Olivia has a wonderfully expressive personality, complete with the cutest little chirps when she wants to chat and responds with her little meows when spoken to.

While she adores attention, Olivia also values her independence. She's perfectly content holding down the fort while you're at work or out for the day. She will be around wanting affection then disappear onto her bed for a nap. She is quite stealth. You might wonder where she is then instantly she appears. She likes to check out under the furniture and squeeze into small places. If you are opening cupboards, the dryer or other doors be careful of her sneaking in as her curiosity to see what is going on and to “help” sometimes leads her to places she shouldn’t be.

A few things to know about Olivia:
• Olivia loves to sleep on the bed with her foster mom, so she’s looking for a home where she can snuggle up at night too!.
• She likes to play with/in the blankets, especially ones with a frill.
• She even loves to be slid around on the floor while sitting on a small blanket, mat or towel.
• She is very tolerant of having her nails cut.
• Occasionally, she can get a little overstimulated and will wrap herself around your arm though, for the most part, she is gentle, a good kicker or wand toy nearby will help with redirection.
• She can be chatty and is not shy about letting you know when she wants some love or inclusion. She will even come up to you and tap you with her paw to get your attention.
• Olivia will often come running to greet you when you come home.
• She gets excited and likes to race you up and down the stairs so, be careful.
• Olivia loves to be held across your arms with a back leg hanging off. Then she will tip her head back for a rub with your chin.
• Her favorite toys are springs and she packs them around in her mouth making excited noises as she does it.
• She loves to sit on the window ledge and chat to the birds.
• She enjoys her dry kibble and loves a Temptations treat or two each morning.

If you're looking for a fun-loving, loyal, and entertaining companion, Olivia might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to bring joy, personality, and plenty of love into your life.

Apply for and meet Livie—you won’t regret it!
.
To help Olivia settle into a new space, we recommend starting her off in a smaller safe room so she can adjust gradually and feel safe. Reading the “Rule of Three” document included with the adoption resources will help you help Olivia settle in.

Ideal Home
Olivia needs a scent free home with minimal dust/air borne particles. She needs to use dust free litter (we have found unscented paper pellet litter to be the most successful and best option for her).

Olivia is looking for a home where she can be a companion kitty and get lots of attention. An adult home without sudden loud noises. She has been ok with visiting school aged kids but doesn’t want to live with them full time.

Compatibility
Cats: No likely not, Olivia can get a little rambunctious with other cats and not know when to stop, doesn’t read the boundaries of other cats very well.
Dogs: No, no exceptions
Kids: No, but older teens can be considered

Age
Estimated age: 2 ½ years

Veterinary Information
• Olivia has been spayed
• Olivia experienced upper respiratory infection while in foster care and has since recovered well. This is usually caused by the feline herpes simplex virus and is very common in rescued cats and kittens. We helped manage this kitty cold by adding a common amino acid supplement, lysine, to wet food daily. A cat may have a flare-up of symptoms in future due to stress, such as a change of environment such as an adoption centre and/or new home. A document explaining this in more detail will be included with the health record card given at time of adoption.
• Olivia appears to have a sensitivity to dust, airborne particles and scents. Exposure to these things causes her sneezing episodes and mucus build up in her nasal passages from irritation. she is using paper litter pellets to help mitigate these episodes successfully. The litter brand will be provided at time of adoption. Using an air purifier would also help remove particles from the air.
• Vaccinated for FVRCP and Feline Leukemia
• Microchipped
• Deflead and dewormed
• Six weeks of pet insurance
• Health record card
• Specific diagnostic testing may also have been done as each cat's health may warrant while in CatNap's care. Should you wish to have more detailed information before submitting an application, please contact adoptions@catnapsociety.com

CatNap's Adoption Fee for Olivia is $375

The store manager will handle all aspects of the adoption process on CatNap’s behalf

Please note: Only in person applications are accepted

ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED
