Despite his age, Oliver still has a playful streak. He adores catnip and string toys! Most of all, Oliver's favorite activity is curling up for a good nap. His favorite spot? Curled up next to his person or snuggled on his trusty heating pad. In his foster home, Oliver has shown he’s easygoing and social — he coexists peacefully with both the resident dog and cat. He’s a calm, neutral presence who simply enjoys being part of the family. Oliver has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, a common condition in older cats. He’ll need an adopter who understands his medical needs and can give him the gentle care he deserves. Second Chance Humane Society's Adoption Policy

You can view our available dogs and cats online, or visit with them in person at our shelter. We are located at 177 County Road 10 in Ridgway, Colorado. We are open to the public 11 AM – 5:30 PM, 7 Days a Week (except designated holidays). We adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We don’t allow pet holds. Our adoption fees vary depending on the age of the pet. Dogs: $200 puppies under 6 months old $100 adult dogs $50 seniors (7 years and up) Cats: $100 kittens under 6 months old $50 adult cats $25 seniors (7 years and up) All pets adopted from Second Chance are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and will have age-appropriate vaccinations. Be prepared to bring your new pet home. All adopted dogs will need a collar and leash. We have them available to purchase, or you can bring your own. ID tags are also available. Cats will need a carrier to go home with you.
