But when my person passed away, my world suddenly changed. Now I’m here at the shelter, trying to understand what happened and to be brave in a place that still feels new and uncertain. I’ll be honest- I’m still a bit uncertain and it’s going to take some time for me to “warm up”…but I’m trying. Sometimes I get scared, I don’t really like being at the shelter and all the new faces and noises- so I need time- I may hiss but show me a squeeze up treat and I’ll warm right up- you get it right- I just need a calm patient and loving home. <br/><br/>I’m a five-year-old dilute calico — soft grays, creams, and whispers of peach — and I’ve always been a gentle, quiet girl. The people here tell me I’m beautiful, and they’re helping me remember what it feels like to be safe again. I’m still learning to trust, but every day I make a little more progress. A slow blink, a soft purr, a small lean into a hand that pets me — I’m remembering that love is still out there.<br/><br/>I do well with other calm, friendly cats — I grew up with two, and their company was always comforting to me. What I really dream of now is a peaceful home with someone patient and kind, who will give me the time I need to settle in and feel at ease.
