Octavia's Story

Octavia is a sweet brown tabby female kitten who arrived at our shelter at the start of December along with her siblings, Meredith and Benjamin. She has quite the unexpected origin story! You'll never guess where this trio came to us from! A dog shelter! Somehow, these kittens ended up there and when the shelter reached out to us to provide them with a safe place to wait for their forever homes, we simply couldn't say no.

You may notice that Octavia has a tipped ear, which indicates she was once part of a trap, neuter and release (TNR) program. Somewhere along the way, it became clear that Octavia and her siblings are far too tame and people-friendly to be living on the streets. Thankfully, that realization led her straight to safety.

Octavia is a typical kitten. She's full of playful energy, curiosity and a desire to explore the world around her. She enjoys investigating new things, playing with toys and keeping herself entertained in all the ways kittens do best. She will thrive in a home that's ready for the fun, engagement and gentle guidance that comes with raising a young cat.

Octavia does not have to be adopted with her brother or sister, but we always like to let adopters know when kittens arrive together in case keeping siblings together is something they'd like to consider.

With her sweet nature, curious spirit and unique journey, Octavia is ready to trade her unusual start for a loving forever home of her own.

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
