Obsidian ("Sid")'s Story
Meet Obsidian! Don't be fooled by the spooky name or grumpy face - Obsidian, aka Sid, is a big fat sweetie. He's a classic gentle giant without a mean bone in his body. Sid is very even-tempered and laid back. Even when things get a bit chaotic at the center, he just sits back and takes it all in. He's definitely a "slow and steady" kinda guy.

Obsidian is a big lover. He really enjoys cuddling, especially on laps, but he won't compete for it. He's a bit of a pushover. If another cat even gives him a mean look, he'll usually back off and wait his turn. He loves scritches, especially on his head/ears/face. Sometimes he'll very gently give us a few paw taps to let us know it's his turn for pets. He likes to bat at toys now and then, but isn't super high-energy or playful. He loves his food, especially a squeeze-up treat.

Sid is FIV+. FIV+ cats can live normal, healthy lives if they are indoor-only, but they do need to be watched closer for illness as they have a hard time fighting it off on their own. Typically FIV+ cats should only live with other FIV+ cats, unless all the cats involved are very even-tempered and won't fight. Sid also has a delicate tummy that can get upset easily, but luckily we've found a food that keeps his issues under control.

We think Sid would be fine with gentle children. He has not been tested with dogs.

Obsidian is estimated to be 6 years old as of May 2026. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, his adoption fee is $79.50.

If you are interested in adopting this particular dog or puppy, please see our Adoption Guidelines at http://www.humanesocietyall.com/applications/ .
