NYLA's Story

Nyla has been spending her time at the shelter tucked away under her blankets, trying to make herself small in a loud, unfamiliar place. When we heard she previously lived with another cat who bullied her, we couldn’t help but wonder if what she really needs is the right feline friend — one who will help her feel safe instead of scared.

Previously known as Coco, Nyla is a beautiful 18-month-old gray tabby with incredibly soft, mink-like fur and a gentle, affectionate personality. Her former owners shared that she did wonderfully with kids, adults, dogs, and other cats. Even a prior owner described her as a cat who “loves to play with other cats.”

Nyla has been through a lot in her short life. After being adopted, the resident male cat struggled to accept her, and despite their family’s best efforts, the cats could not safely live together. Then came a house fire, forcing more upheaval and temporary housing with a neighbor.

Through all of these changes, one thing has remained true: Nyla is a sweet, loving girl who deserves stability, kindness, and a home where she can finally relax and thrive.

Maybe all she needs is a second chance — and the right companion to show her she belongs.
