Nova's Story
***Nova is a cat who needs other cats to be happy. She must be adopted into a home that has a friendly, calm cat waiting to be her security and best friend.

Nova is a 2.7-year-old grey beauty with the softest fur you’ll ever touch and the sweetest, most gentle soul. She began life as a semi-feral cat and was rescued into safety, leaving her early story a mystery. What we do know is that Nova is incredibly special and will blossom beautifully with patience, consistency, and love.

Small for her size with short little legs and a squat, adorable build, Nova is a true creature of habit who finds comfort in routine. She’s shy and timid at first, but once she feels safe, her personality shines through in the most endearing ways.

Nova is very vocal when she wants attention, offering a variety of cute, sweet meows to let you know she’s there. She adores pets — especially on her bum (hello, elevator butt!) — and enjoys gentle tummy rubs too. When she’s happy, she makes biscuits, purrs contentedly, and melts into your touch. She doesn’t like being picked up, but she shows affection in her own quiet, trusting ways.

She has excellent litter box manners, loves wand toys (especially simple ones with feathers or nothing attached), and enjoys playing near doorways. Nova thrives in calm environments and loves the company of gentle, easygoing cats like herself. She would do wonderfully with a peaceful feline companion and prefers to avoid rough play.

Nova needs a friendly, calm and affectionate cat in her forever home. In her early days she really sought out comfort from the adult male resident cat and had no fear of him. She was always rubbing against him and sniffing him. Sometimes she cries at night because she likes him to be in the same room with her. They play together at night, though she likes to keep the sessions short. Nova found the younger kittens in foster with her to be a little too energetic and rough, even if she still got along with them. She needs a cat who will be her emotional support animal.

Nova is a sweet, sensitive soul who will be incredibly rewarding to watch as she grows more confident. She may take time, but the bond you build with her will be something truly special.

Would you like to make Nova a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
