Northstar's Story
North Star is a strikingly handsome boy with a gentle personality to match.

He’s also a cat who likes to know that his world is safe before he fully participates in it.

North Star is naturally shy and tends to stay in the background when he’s uncertain. New people and unfamiliar situations take some time for him to process, and the activity of a group rescue environment can sometimes be difficult for a sensitive cat like him.

But give North Star consistency, routine and time, and you’ll begin to see a different boy.

Once he feels secure, North Star is sweet and loving and enjoys spending time with his person. He isn’t looking for a busy household filled with constant change. He’ll be happiest with someone who understands that trust doesn’t need to happen immediately and is willing to let him settle in at his own pace.

North Star also recently experienced a change when a feline friend was adopted. We noticed that he seemed to miss his companion and went through a period when he just wasn’t quite himself. He’s beginning to adjust and come back out of his shell, reminding us again how much relationships and consistency matter to him.

We believe a quiet, predictable home could give North Star an opportunity to truly thrive.

His adopter shouldn’t expect him to walk through the door and immediately make himself at home. He may need to watch for a while. He may need to learn the sounds and rhythms of his new environment. And he may need some reassurance that this new life isn’t going to disappear underneath him.

Give North Star the time to discover that he’s safe, and you’ll get the chance to discover the sweet, loving boy who’s been there all along.

North Star is healthy, neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
