Nora's Story

Hello, My name is Nora

Nora is a gentle, loving soul! She may need a little time to learn that you're her safe place, but once she does, her affectionate side truly shines. After earning her trust, she becomes incredibly cuddly and will happily soak up all the pets you're willing to give - especially if you come bearing a Churu!

I am not a picky eater and I like all kinds of treats, that is one way to gain my trust.

I enjoy to cuddle and lay on your lap while watching TV, and I will sleep under the covers when I want to nap by myself or with a trusted companion.

Nora has a playful streak, too, and can't resist toys with bells or feathers. When she's not chasing her favorite toy, you'll often find her perched by the window, enjoying a long, thoughtful gaze at birds and passersby.

With a little patience and a lot of love, Nora will blossom into the sweetest, most devoted companion.

This feline participated in our Whiskers of Hope program.

Whiskers of Hope: Fostering Cats in Correctional Facilities, in partnership with Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility is designed to give cats a calm, consistent environment to decompress and receive one-on-one care and provide incarcerated individuals with emotional support, a sense of purpose, and the opportunity to give back by fostering animals in need.

Each participating individual lives in the mental health unit and has earned the opportunity to be part of this program through positive behavior, leadership, and responsibility. Cats live with their assigned caregiver in a private room, with access to shared enrichment spaces and regular oversight from both facility staff and our team.

Each cat receives daily enrichment, love, and individualized care. In turn, the program offers therapeutic benefits to the people involved and helps prepare each cat for a successful adoption.

All CSHS kitties are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test (if not born in care), dewormed and microchipped.

If you would like to meet Nora, please fill out an application on our website today!

Carver-Scott Humane Society's Adoption Policy
At the Carver Scott Humane Society, we follow an Adopter's Welcome philosophy. This means that instead of an overwhelming application process, home visits, and hoop jumping, we take a conversational approach to our adoptions. Our goal is to make adoptions possible and help you be a successful pet parent! Once an application is submitted, we take applications as "first-come, first-considered." While this does not guarantee that the first applicant will adopt the animal of their choice, it does guarantee that we will process the application all the way through before moving on to the next application in line. If you see an animal you are interested in, please apply as soon as possible! This does not obligate you to the animal in case you change your mind, but may assist in securing your place in line for that animal.
