Noel (Elle)'s Story

Noël (born 5/25) was found outside, abandoned to the streets, on a freezing day in December. She had been starving for quite some time as she was so very, very thin that it was hard to tell that she was pregnant. But, she was pregnant and alone. Luckily for her, she was trapped and sent to foster care where two days later she gave birth to four little kittens. She was a nurturing and loving mama cat to her little babies, but was fearful of her human caregivers. It is very clear that someone in her past treated her unkindly, as she is especially afraid of hands. It takes her time to trust that the hands she sees are not going to hit her or hurt her.

Noël has taught us that she prefers to be called “Elle,” or “Mama” as the “No” part of her name confuses her. She associates it with having done something wrong for which she might be disciplined. (If you use spanking or slapping for discipline, please do not adopt this cat. She could not handle being hit ever again). But, for someone who is willing to give her patience and love, which is what she truly wants more than anything, she will become a good pet.

Now that her kittens have all found homes, and she is alone in her foster room, she cries out for human companionship. She absolutely loves to play. Wand and feather toys are her favorite and have proven to be a good way to bond with her. Noël prefers to rub up against a person’s leg, rather than to have someone reach down to pet her. If you move slowly, she will take treats from your hands and allow herself to be pet. She can even be picked up.

Noël is a very intelligent cat. She learns very quickly, especially if given her favorite Churu lickable treat as a reward for doing whatever you’d like her to do. She is a clean cat who has used the litter box faithfully since she’s been in foster care. This cat is a rare beauty with big eyes that are truly yellow, not gold. She has a silky, dilute tortoiseshell coat that is not prone to matting. The tortoiseshell coat is a pattern of black fur and orange fur that is mixed together in an asymmetric pattern which looks a bit like a tortoise’s shell—hence the name. This cat’s coat is even more rare as it has been diluted to grey and cream.

In many parts of the world, tortoiseshell cats are thought to bring good luck and good fortune to anyone who encounters them. Maybe adopting this cat could bring good fortune to both you and her.

If you are interested in this beauty or any of our other angels, you can complete an adoption application online at:

https://www.kittenangels.org/adopt

Please indicate on the adoption application that you are interested in Noel (Elle) fostered by Kerry C.

Please note, fosters do get final approval for any adoption as they are most familiar with the personalities of their foster kittens and cats.

Kitten Angels is a non profit, volunteer organization. We rely solely on fostering, volunteers, donations, and adoption fees. An adoption fee of $175.00 must be paid at the time of adoption by either cash or check. All of our adoptable animals are assessed in foster homes, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.
