Petite Sadiya (5 years, with a sleek black coat) and her calico mom, Noctua (approximately 6.5 years), were rescued by Red Rose Animal Rescue along with 36 other cats, all of whom were emaciated, frightened, and struggling to survive.

For three years, Noctua and Sadiya have been cherished in foster care as they healed and learned to trust. Now, they’re ready to share that love with their forever family.

Their Journey
Sadiya, the more outgoing of the two, helped her timid mother rediscover trust and joy. Noctua was once too scared to come out of hiding, but now she greets her foster with a soft meow, cheek scratches, and happily rolls over for brushing. Daily play and petting sessions are now their favorite part of the day. Watching Noctua bloom into her true self has been nothing short of magical.

What They Enjoy and Desire in Their Forever Home

• Brushing Time: Noctua is first in line when she sees the brush, while Sadiya lounges like royalty, soaking up every stroke (she can get overstimulated, paw tap—no claws).

• Play & Treats: Sadiya has earned the nickname Ninja Kitty for her graceful leaps and climbs. Both will take treats by hand.

• Sunny Windows & Cozy Perches: Birdwatching and lounging in cushy beds make for perfect afternoons. They also enjoy electronic Cat TV (birdwatching on YouTube).

• Energy & Connection: They even enjoy daily Reiki sessions, though all they really need is a gentle heart and patience.

Special Care
Due to their rough start in life, both girls will need to stay on a high-quality, human-grade, special diet. Noctua is trained to go into a large dog kennel, where she is fed at mealtimes to protect her food from being gobbled up by her daughter. Kennel training has also made it easier to get Noctua into a carrier for vet visits, as she tends to hide. She is not at all aggressive; she is just shy and timid. The kennel can accompany her on the adoption.

The Right Home
A quiet household is essential.
• They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.
• Other respectful cats or a gentle small dog may be fine with slow introductions.
• No young children or big dogs, please.
• Both are spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and excellent with the litter box.

The Adoption Process
Building trust with Noctua takes time, but once she trusts you, it’s unforgettable. Because of this, adoption will require more than one visit—not a “meet once and take home” situation. The reward for your patience is a lifelong bond with two very special cats.

*Their adoption fee has been partially sponsored—all they need now is you.

An approved application and an appointment are required.

If interested in meeting Noctua and Sadiya, please submit an application by copying/pasting this link into your browser:

https://rescueaware.com/application.asp?c=12001

Noctua & Sadiya are fostered in Seattle. If you are interested in meeting this pair, you will need to be willing to travel to the foster's home in Seattle.

*While we try to ensure every cat is healthy, no rescue cat is perfect. Please keep in mind that ANY kind of stress can disrupt a cat's life. New environment, new people, new food. Cats can sneeze or have a runny nose, too, so please give them time to adjust. Many of our cats come from horrendous outside situations. Many had open wounds, infections, parasites, and were malnourished. Regardless, EVERY cat deserves another chance. Please take this into consideration when filling out an adoption application. All newly adopted animals should be established with your vet as soon as possible, before any emergency arises.
