Nina Simone's Story

Nina Simone is a shy but sweet little girl with a heart full of love. When you hold her in your lap she purrs and purrs, snuggling right into your arms. She's a gentle, timid soul who truly wants affection and connection; she just needs a patient, understanding person who will help her feel safe and secure.

Nina is quite small for her age at 7 months old, she weighs just 5 pounds, so she's expected to remain a petite cat even as an adult. She had a tough start in life when we found her at 3 months of age, seemingly without a mother cat to care for her, she was only 1.5 lbs and was experiencing food insecurity. New management at her garden apartment complex had decided to ban the colony feeders, threatening to evict or have police arrest the people who had been feeding the cats there. Poor Nina!

In her foster home, Nina has enjoyed the company of the other cats (both kittens and adults) but her favorite feline friend is 6-year-old Mama Opal, whose calm, quiet spirit seems to be just her cup of tea. While we usually adopt out kittens in pairs or to homes that already have a similar-aged kitten, in Nina's case we think she could thrive as a companion to a gentle, older resident cat.

All of that said, Nina does have her playful side! She is entranced by dangling wand toys and can't resist a laser pointer. Once she feels safe, her playful charm really shines through.

Our sweet little Nina Simone is ready to find her forever home where she can blossom at her own pace with someone who understands that the softest hearts often love the deepest.

Nina has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

If you are interested in adopting please visit the link below to fill out our adoption application via Shelterluv.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCC/Cat

You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us.

BCC does not have a shelter or storefront.
