NIKKI's Story

My name is Nikki and I am a dilute tortie domestic mediumhair. I am a spayed female and I am 3 months old. I am at the shelter because I was found as a stray on 09/12/2025. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a typical high energy kitten and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other cats and I can be good with dogs. My foster family had this to say about me: Nikki is such a beautiful muted tortishell cat. She loves to play and has such a big personality. She is very outgoing and constantly playing and exploring new places. She purrs soooo loud and loves to come cuddle up for a long nap after she had her fun of running around.

Ames Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

In order to better serve our adopters and ensure our animals remain healthy and happy, our animals are available for viewing by adoption appointment only. Adoption appointments are scheduled once an application has been submitted. Our adoption process is the following: Step One: Review the available animals through the links below Step Two: If you see someone you are interested in, submit an adoption application (be sure to list their name on the application.) Step Three: A staff member will review your application and reach out to you by email once it has been approved. If approved, they will schedule you an appointment to come in and meet the animal.
