Once a house cat, Nike somehow ended up outside in a very large cat colony in NE DC, forced to fend for herself. When our volunteers found her, she had been living with a severe tail injury for almost two years and was suffering from a severe mosquito allergy. She required a tail amputation, but luckily, with a little TLC inside and some vet care, Nike has fully recovered. And now she has the cutest little lamb tail you'll ever see!!<br/><br/>Nike makes a great companion. She loves to have a conversation, and she’ll coo right back to you when you tell her you love her. She enjoys getting pets and being brushed, and she’ll even dribble drool from happiness as she soaks in your love -- she just can’t contain it! Treats are a love language for Nike, and she is happy to entertain herself during the day, mostly sleeping the day away in a good napping spot. When you come home in the evenings, she'll be right there, ready to help you wind down with some Nike Time! <br/><br/>Nike would prefer to be your entire world (aka the only pet in your home), and she has more than enough love to give. She can be a tiny bit unsure about new people at first (understably, given her history), but with a few treats, you’ll be her favorite person for life.
