Nick's Story
Hello, my name is: Nick
Approx. DOB: 10/29/2024
Weight: 7 lbs
Sex/breed: Neutered male domestic shorthair
Rescued from: Hoarding case

Last year, a group of 27 cats found themselves alone in a quiet house, left to fend for themselves after their owner passed away. The home was already in a sad state, as the owner had struggled with their mental health and couldn’t keep up with the cats’ care.

Thanks to the kindness of our rescue community, most of the cats found placement with other organizations or adoptive homes. We are still caring for nine, of which Justin, Brittney, Nick, and Jessica are a part.

These four brave kitties are living among other cats and dogs in their foster home and are learning through them that humans are safe. They no longer bolt when approached and instead stay to listen to a kind word or investigate an offered treat. The girls will even stop you in the hallway to have a little chat! And despite the conditions they came from, they all use the litter boxes and scratching posts faithfully.

Because they find their greatest courage in the company of their own kind, Justin, Brittney, Nick, and Jessica are looking for forever homes that already include at least one friendly resident cat to act as a mentor. While they do not all need to be adopted together, they would be happy to move in pairs or even larger groups if a kind-hearted adopter has the room to spare.

They simply need patient owners who understand that healing takes time and will allow them to adjust at their own pace. With time and safe and gentle pushing, we’re sure these sweet cats will seek out attention and affection from those they trust!

All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.
Interested in adopting?
