Nero's Story
Meet Nero, a handsome, uber-affectionate, lap cat with a shimmery, black coat, round, green eyes and gentle disposition.

Nero was rescued from a neighborhood in Sun Valley, CA, where he showed up at a kind woman's door... hungry and scared. He was originally trapped as a feral and released (hence the ear tip). He disappeared for a while but showed up, again, with severe flea dermatitis on his back. Many strays were coming to her porch for food and water. But this time he stayed and began sleeping on her porch and showing clear signs that he no longer wanted a life on the mean streets.

He began coming closer and closer to her at meal time which allowed her to begin giving him gentle pets. Before long, that contact developed into head bumps and flopping over for scritches and belly rubs.

Since there were coyotes hunting in the area and it was close to a busy street, the kind woman decided to bring him inside. He began using the litterbox like a champ and was taken back to the vet for a wellness exam and combo test (for FIV/FeLV) - for which he was negative.

As you can see, by the video clips (which I'll be adding to his adoption listing), he's become a complete lap cat, LOVE MONKEY and cuddler - adjusting to indoor life as if he'd been there all along! I've found that it's usually the toms who've lived a rough life out there, who end up becoming the BEST companions... dare I say, even a little on the "needy" side.

Nero would be an ideal pet for someone who works from home, a retired couple, or a family with older children. He gets along GREAT with other cats. Right now, his BFF is a beautiful, 5 year-old, brown Striped Tabby girl named, Mimi (who's also looking for a good, loving home).

You'll find his rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #35 on our Facebook page: Save The Leadwell Kitties. There you'll find ALL our rescued cats and kittens, including updates from fosters and adopters.

Nero's adoption will include his:
* Neuter surgery,
* De-worming,
* FVRCP vaccinations,
* Rabies vaccination,
* Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative),
* Flea and mite treatment (with NexGard),
* and Microchipping

~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~

* Please only contact us if you'll be making this boy a permanent member of your household and will be keeping him safe indoors.

*** You can also find all our adoptables on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including their rescue story, photos and video updates).

Interested in becoming a much-needed foster?
