Nelly's Story

? Meet Nelly ?

Nelly is a beautiful and resilient girl, who had a rough kitten-hood, but is blossoming into a sweet and quirky lady! ? She was likely abandoned with her kittens when she was just a kitten herself. A kind-hearted person noticed her struggle and began feeding her, slowly earning her trust. Nelly was a devoted and caring mama, but her little family endured heartbreak when a predator or dog got one of her babies. Based on the scratches she received, it appears Nelly bravely fought to protect her baby, but sadly that little one was never found. After that, Nelly became even more protective—accepting food and gentle pets from her caretaker, but keeping her kittens hidden away where she felt they were safe. With time, patience, and compassion, her caretaker was finally able to bring the whole family indoors. That’s when Nelly’s life began to change.

At first, she was nervous and unsure, but she’s learned that inside means safety, comfort, and love. Now her sweet personality is beginning to bloom! Nelly still startles easily and has her little quirks, but she’s discovered that pets and affection are pretty wonderful. In fact, she has her very own “pet chair” at her foster home—when she’s ready for attention, she’ll trot right over to it and wait for you, sometimes even following you around until you give in for her demands for affection!

Nelly is also a playful girl who loves wand toys, and has a chatty streak that keeps her foster mama quite entertained. She’s made friends with the other cats in the house, and enjoys a good game of chase. She’s also polite lady — especially when Churu treats are being handed out! She’ll patiently wait her turn in the cat lineup for treats! Another one of her favorites? Booty scratches. Just watch that rear shoot into the air!

This brave little survivor deserves a calm, loving forever home where she can continue to blossom. She does well with other adult cats but finds young kittens a bit stressful (and who could blame her after all she’s been through?).

Nelly is estimated to be right around a year old, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, combo tested negative, and ready to meet her forever family!
