Nellie's Story

Nellie and Luna were surrendered to the Henderson County animal shelter when their elderly owner could no longer care for them.

Nellie is a sweet and gorgeous Siamese Ragdoll mix. She is a little timid at first but has lots of love to give once she feels comfortable.

Although these two have lived together most of their lives, they do not need to be adopted together. There seems to be some bullying but it could likely be overcome if they had more space (they are currently together in one bedroom 24/7). Nellie would prefer a quiet home with a patient adopter and she needs her own separate space with access to food and litter until she learns to feel safe.

Adopters download and complete an adoption application from our website and email it back to info@lapsandnaps.org. After reviewing the application, either the director or the animal care coordinator calls the potential adopter and conducts a phone interview. A home visit is sometimes conducted and, if the adopter is approved, arrangements are made for the adopter to meet the cat (s)he is interested in adopting. If it's a good match, the adopter pays the adoption fee, signs an adoption contract, and the cat goes to its new home.
