Naomi's Story

NAOMI is a female-spayed short hair black cat, born about March 2021. She was rescued as a stray kitten, then accepted by YAPS, then adopted January 2022. Per her prior owner: "she's reserved, calm, good with children & other cats, good with some dogs. Naomi is a fine cat, & has no issues." Very reluctantly, the owner had to relinquish Naomi back to YAPS February 2026 because of a family member's cat allergy. We find her to be stressed from the recent loss of her prior home of four years, so she usually doesn't come to you for affection from her resting place. She is shy, gentle, affectionate, & may "talk" to you with short meows as you approach her. She LOVES being petted in her resting place - often purrs softly, "kneads biscuits", & nuzzles you in appreciation. She currently prefers not to be held. When adopted she should initially be placed in a "safe room", to gradually adjust to her new surroundings.

Yucaipa Animal Placement Society's Adoption Policy
The adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccines and a microchip for dogs and cats. We do a thorough assessment of the animal’s temperament and needs so that we can find both them and you the companion of a lifetime. Our goal is to adopt out pets into permanent, loving homes. The YAPS Team is here to help you choose a pet that will fit in with your lifestyle and bring harmony to your home. YAPS does not currently offer transport for adopters outside of our surrounding area. Adopters must adopt a pet in person at our facility or adoption events.
