Meet Mystic - a true survivor with a heart of gold. Mystic was once known only as B18. And no, he wasn't in a prison, although his life before coming to TTR may have felt like one. Mystic has lived through more than any cat ever should. He was rescued, only to end up in danger again when his rescuer fell into crisis, creating a severe hoarding situation where cats suffered, became ill, and lived in conditions no animal should ever endure. Many did not survive. In the middle of the night, animal control stepped in and that's when Mystic's second rescue truly began. He was found with a large, infected gash across his neck, terrified, dirty, and so shut down that officers believed he was feral. But once he received medical care and finally felt safe, Mystic revealed who he really is: the sweetest, gentlest boy you could ever meet.<br/><br/>Mystic is now thriving in our ResQ Retreat foster room, where he has made fast friends, especially with Toby, his favorite buddy. Mystic rubs against him, shows affection, and waits patiently beside him at the dinner bowl every night. Despite being FIV+, Mystic is healthy, social, and full of love. FIV+ cats live long, normal lives and can safely live with other friendly cats. After everything he has endured, Mystic deserves a home where he will be safe, cherished, and never again at risk. He is ready for a family who sees the beauty in him and will give him the home he should have already had.
