Mushroom's Story

This guy is Mushroom. He was going to be used as a bait kitty, the foster heard this and instantly stepped and took the cat. She came to us and asked us to take the kitten. We cant not even describe how sweet he is. He rubs, purrs and cuddles. When he looks at you he looks deep into your soul. We believe he is about 5 months old.

When he came in he had a bit of upper respiratory, his needed eye drops. We want to be clear that when moving house holds this may reoccur.

The foster reports that he does well with her cat and her large breed dog. She also say that he uses the litter box great. He is not scared of strangers at all. She says that he sleeps with her and follows her around the house.

Mushroom is up to date on vaccines for the year and is now neutered. On his surgery day we tested him for FeLV and he was negative, we also placed a microchip. Our vet has checked him out multiple times. Honestly you can not help but fall in love.

Adoption Fee- 100.00 - We take check, card and cash.

You will get a copy of the Microchip form when you go home, we will register that for you. However I would like if in the first week you would check it to make sure we did not make any errors. After that it will be your responsibility to keep its information up to date and accurate. It is lifelong enrollment you will never have to pay towards that again. The microchip sits in between the shoulder blades right under the skin. Your email will be the username, so you have to have one. Once you log on to PetLink.net you can change that password to whatever you would like.

You will get a copy of your adoption contract, signed by you and a Pawsitive Cause board member. This contract will go over that our kittens have been seen by a veterinarian and have gotten vet care, their hearts have been listened to but we can not guarantee the health of any animal. He appears healthy and did great for his vet care.

You will get a hand-out about Upper Respiratory Infection in cats, many animals in rescue and shelters have been previously exposed to these ailments. this kitten has struggled with it but seems to have gotten better, the change or stress of going home can bring things like that on. That’s why we send home the hand out, everyone gets it.

We will go over a checklist to make sure we did not miss anything. You will get a copy of that as well. I have asked the fosters to bring some food for you to take home to transition on to what you want them to eat. We have always offered wet and dry food.

The fosters report that He is using the litter boxes great. However, we recommend starting him in a room with a litter box and open more and more of the house at a time. Do not move the litter box a lot, they get confused easily. Once he learns then let them free roam. That also helps with introductions to other animals as well. You should always do slow introductions under a door with a few days of no sight. Once all the animals are calm and used to the new noises and smells you can start offering treats at the door to both animals. Then open the door and start letting them slowly mingle.

You will also receive a paper copy or email copy of all the medical records we have. We would love it if you continued your vet care with us at Pawsitive Care but we understand if you have a vet you love. We will try to make this as easy as possible

If you think Mushroom would complete your family please email us at PawsitiveCauseMI@gmail.com

Pawsitive Cause Non-Profit Animal Rescue
611 N Saginaw St.
Holly, MI 48442
PawsitiveCauseMI@gmail.com
Fax: (248) 587-7622

Pawsitive Cause in a non-profit, no-kill, foster based animal rescue located in Holly, MI. Our animals are placed with foster families where they are treated like family until they find their own furever home. Our adoption process requires an application to be completed, which you can find on our facebook page, and then a "meet and greet" is to take place. Our animals are adopted out to the first perfect fit. Adoption fees are necessary for us to help cover medical cost for our rescue animals.
