Mumu (available from Foster)'s Story
We'd like to introduce to Mumu
*** (Mumu is not at the shelter, but in a foster home. Contact information is at the end of this listing.)

Mumu is a 3-year old male domestic short hair orange/red tabby with white mittens. He's a robust and solid boy who is impossible not to love.

Mumu was cruelly dumped in a parking lot where a managed feral colony existed. Can you imagine? A rescuer heard about him and once she met him it was clear that he did not belong there. The rescuer brought him home and showered him with love.

Mumu is an absolute lovebug, who has some separation anxiety. He is afraid of being abandoned again and has a tendency to be clingy. He does not like to be alone and will sometimes grab your ankles when you try to leave the room.

Adopting a needy cat means embracing lots of affection. Settling Mumu into a new home should include establishing routines, enriching his environment, using patience and positive enforcement to build security and reduce neediness.

Mumu's foster mom explains:

"Mumu is a lovebug and hates to be alone. He will drape himself across my chest with his head on my shoulder and will fall fast asleep, purring and making tiny little happy sighing sounds. He just wants to be held, loved and fed. I call him velcro kitty because I often wear him like a sash. He's so adorable. At first, it seems like he is being aggressive when he grabs your leg, but it is not anger, but fear."

Mumu isn't fond of other cats, so will need to be an only cat. His new person/people will need to be someone who is either retired or works from home. Also, he would do best in a home without children. He just wants to be "the only one".

When first rescued, this boy was suffering from dental disease, and has since had 8 extractions and is feeling so much better! Also, he had entropian eyes (eyelid turns inward causing eyelashes to rub against the eye), which was surgically repaired by an animal opthalmologist. Now his eyes feel so much better as well! Mumu was diagnosed with an innocent heart murmur which requires no treatment.

Mumu has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and viral tested. He's ready to begin living his best life!

***
If you are interested in meeting Mumu, please complete an application by visiting www.MeowCatRescue.org/adopt and email to akh98011@aol.com
