Mulligan's Story

Meet Mulligan
Mulligan is a stunning medium-haired female with a story as memorable as her name. She was found as a stray lingering around a local golf course. Despite efforts to locate an owner, she was never claimed. In golf, a mulligan is a second chance or a do-over. And that's exactly what this special girl has been given. She has a fresh start and a brighter future.

One look at Mulligan and you'll notice her charm right away. Her white paws look like she's dressed in her finest stilettos and her extra-long whiskers are so impressive they might just stretch across our zip code. She carries herself with elegance and quiet grace.

After she was safely secured, it was discovered that Mulligan needed FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery likely due to a severe old injury. The "ball" of her hip joint had become detached and surgery was needed to correct the positioning of her femur and relieve her pain. Thanks to veterinary care followed by physical therapy to rebuild strength and range of motion, Mulligan has made wonderful progress. She then spent several weeks decompressing in a loving foster home, where her personality truly began to shine.

Her foster learned that Mulligan enjoys:
* Playing with toy mice, paper balls and the laser
* Watching birds and deer through the window
* Being brushed (Regular brushing will be important to keep her beautiful coat tangle-free and is a great way to bond with her)
* Listening to holiday and classical music

Mulligan is a snuggler once she trusts you, but she can be a bit skeptical of loud noises and being picked up. She may need patience around children and men, as she has shown that she tends to hide from them. A calm, understanding home that lets her build confidence at her own pace would be ideal.

We are incredibly grateful to our supporters whose donations made it possible for Mulligan to receive the medical care she needed to enjoy a wonderful quality of life. Now, she's ready for the final piece of her journey; a forever home.

We would love nothing more than to see Mulligan settled into her own loving family for the holidays, so she can kick off the New Year with comfort, security and a second chance well earned.

Mulligan is available by consultant to discuss her FHO surgery. Please email arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
