Mufasa's Story
Mufasa - Male DOB 7/29/2017 Domestic Short Hair - Orange and White

With a name like Mufasa, you’d expect an orange-and-white lion of a cat, and honestly... that’s not far off. He spent several years outside taking care of himself and navigating the world on his own terms, with help from a few kind neighbors who made sure he didn’t go hungry. Now he’s retired from street life and figuring out how nice it is to have heat, regular meals, and toys instead of survival tasks.

Once he gets comfortable, Mufasa is a big soft teddy bear. He loves being around people, enjoys pets, and will roll over when he’s relaxed and wants more attention. He’s also obsessed with catnip toys, especially the kind he can kick, drool on, and claim as his own, and he’s surprisingly playful with wand toys for a cat who had to act tough for so long. Floor scratch pads are one of his favorite things and should definitely be part of his setup.

Because he lived outside for years, Mufasa benefits from a cat-savvy person who can read his cues as he adjusts to indoor life. If he’s unsure or overstimulated, he’ll hiss to let you know he needs space, and then he’s right back to seeking out his person once he’s ready again.

Mufasa is not interested in sharing his kingdom with other cats; he much prefers being the one and only. A calm, respectful dog could potentially be okay with a slow introduction, and older kids who know when to give him space would be fine. He’ll also need a home that’s mindful about doors, just in case the old instinct to roam kicks in.

There’s something especially rewarding about watching a once-tough outdoor cat finally relax into indoor life and Mufasa is well on his way.

Please apply via our easy online application at https://furrr.org/cat-adoption-process/
