Ms. Hazel's Story

If you'd like to meet our sweet Ms. Hazel, please read her full profile. Once you've done that and would like to move forward, we ask that you then visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment. www.ggohinc.com

Ms. Hazel (or just Hazel) had a quiet upsetting start to her journey here to us but oh how glad we had the room to take her in. Ms. Hazel was found as a stray with a serious eye injury and the finder reached out to another well-known organization who said they would do her spay but would not fix her eye - yes, that means that she would be released back to where she was found fixed so she couldn't reproduce but she would have to go back out with this horrible eye injury. Now how could we ever let that happen - we are NOT okay with this type of thinking - at all! So, Ms. Hazel joined us here at GGOH and we took care of not only spaying her, but removing that eye that was severely damaged. Shame on that other organization but we gotcha Ms. Hazel and we're going to find you the best home ever!

Ms. Hazel has been learning to adapt to her new world - seeing with just one eye takes some adjusting. She's cautious around strangers and you know, we can't really blame her - she's been through a lot in her short little life. What she needs is someone who is willing to give her time and space to learn a new way of living - living indoors with a whole house to roam free in and with people who treasure her. It seems like that would be an easy adjustment and indeed it is for some, but when you've have a bit of trauma in your life, things take a little longer to adjust to. If you have it in your heart to give love to those most in need, perhaps you'd like to consider this precious little girl - it might take some time to earn her trust, but we know she will be forever grateful to that special someone who willing to give her that time and tons of love.

She gets along fabulously with the other cats in her room here at GGOH and is often found snuggling with a friend or two. She's not been around dogs but likely would be okay with well behaved and gentle dogs but probably would be on high alert with dogs with too much energy. We're recommending she go to a home either with no children, or one with older children - youngsters might be too much for her to adjust to at this time.

One other detail in regards to our sweet girl, she does best on a food that is for sensitive stomachs - while this food is not overly expensive, it is higher quality so does have a higher price point than your typical cat chow. We know for some that additional expense me be a factor so we just wanted to be transparent with our sweetie's needs.

Please consider this Ms. Hazel - we know her person(s) is out there somewhere.

Ms. Hazel's approx. DOB is 9/9/2022.
