Mr. Scrappy's Story

Meet Mr. Scrappy, a sweet, friendly brown Tabby boy with many war wounds but so much love to give! His ears are a little crinkled on the ends and his head and body have scars from his previous life... living on the mean streets of North Hills, CA.

When Mr. Scrappy first showed up at a kind woman's home, he was hungry and bloody. She began feeding and caring for him and that's what made him decide to stay... where it felt safe.

This poor fella kept trying to befriend the other feral cats but they kept beating up on him and he always looked so confused as to why.

When he showed up for dinner one night, with fresh wounds on his upper body, that's when his caregiver reached out for help.

Because he was still intact, he was having to do battle with other, intact males - fighting over territory and females. They are at the highest risk of contracting FIV - which is typically spread via deep, bite wounds. Considering the condition he was in, I was certain he'd be positive... but isn't!! That was a huge relief. Since then, he's been living in a cage which is no life for any cat.

This fella craves human contact and can be very vocal at meal time. Mr. S also enjoys being pet, scratched and brushed.

He'd do best in a home with at least one, other friendly young cat or with someone who works from home - where he won't be left alone for long hours. I'm in the process of editing together video clips - showing how incredibly social and affectionate he is... will be uploading to this site.

PLEASE, won't you give this deserving boy a chance at a life as a pampered companion? *Note that we are only guessing his age since we can only go by estimations from his veterinarian.

You'll find his full rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #34 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including video and photo updates on all our cats and kittens).

Mr. Scrappy's adoption will include his:
* Neuter surgery,
* De-worming,
* Flea and mite treatment,
* FVRCP vaccinations,
* Rabies vaccination,
* Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative),
* and Microchipping!

~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~

* Please only contact us if you'll be making Mr. S a permanent member of your household and will be keeping him safe indoors.

** We do not adopt out kittens or cats where they will be the only pet at home. Kittens rely on each other for emotional support and continued social and behavioral development. For example: another kitten or cat will teach them when they're playing too rough or biting too hard. Plus, cats and kittens get very lonely when you're not at home! Having a playmate will keep them happier, healthier and out of trouble. **We offer a discount when adopting a pair!

*** You can also find all our adoptables on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including their rescue story, photos and video updates).

Interested in becoming a much-needed foster? Please send us a message with your best contact info, the type of home environment you can provide and, most-importantly, the City in which you live. Thanks!

Considering the condition he was in, I was certain he'd be positive... but isn't!! T
