Mr. Floof's Story

Mr. Floof was found, with his siblings, outside the Tabby Shack at about 8 weeks old and has been in our care for nearly a year now. Initially, Floof had no interest in being rescued or interacting with humans. However, as time has passed, he has learned to enjoy the finer things in life. He's often found minding his own business or snuggling with another rescue cat, but he has no issue coming up for pets on his terms. He loves head rubs and coming up to visit every time you enter a bathroom. Floof has found a best friend in 2 other rescue cats, one of which we believe to be an actual brother from a previous litter (see Milo). While he can live as the only pet, Floof definitely thrives in the comfort of another feline. Since he is long-haired, he does require an occasional trim on his tail, but only if something gets stuck. Otherwise, Floof is extremely low maintenance and relaxed. He enjoys sunbathing, snuggling with other cats, and smacking toys around the house. He is very affectionate with his people, but he can still startle easily, but briefly, with strangers. He is very curious and typically unafraid to investigate anything new. Overall, Floof is a near-perfect cat and definitely a staff favorite. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and house trained. He currently lives with other rescue cats and the resident dog.

The Tabby Shack's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are welcome to contact us via phone, text, or email regarding any questions/concerns about our rescues prior and following adoption. Once a rescue has been selected, we require a questionnaire to be filled out answering questions about current household and pets. We also require a vet reference, which we use to contact the adopter's current vet to ensure they appropriately take care of any current/former animals in their household. Once we feel confident the potential adopter is a safe home for our rescue, we have the adopter sign the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and then they can pick up/we will deliver the rescue to the adopter's residence. Once the adoption has taken place, we like to stay in regular contact with the adopter during the 45-day adjustment period to ensure both the adopter and the rescue are adjusting well. If problems arise during the 45-day period and the adopter cannot/will not keep the rescue cat, we make arrangements to return the rescue cat to us.
