Mowgli's Story

The sweetest old guy, Mowgli will make you a happy person just being with him. He's probably 15 years old, still skinny as a rail, a little decrepit in the joints, and his vision is not good at all. But he's all set to live his best life with a loving human or humans and hopefully a gentle cat buddy and make the world a better place.

We love this guy. He never gives up. He ended up at the Anchorage shelter in terrible shape, skin and bones, his fur matted, his eyes woozy and his old body hurting from old body aches and pains. Life had not been good to him for a long time. But give him a warm home with someone to love and care for him, and he is now ready to start the adventure of the rest of his life. All he needs is a chance to settle down with his final loving family in his forever home.

Mowgli gets around pretty good. He even will romp a bit with his foster cat buddy, but he wants to romp gently. So a friend who would go easy on the old guy would be best, someone to hang out with and share stories of the old days. He would do best with some super nutritious food; kitten food works. He could use a couple more pounds of padding. And to help his creaky bones he has been getting a supplement in his food and a monthly shot that seems to help.

Mowgli knows the ropes. No problem fitting into a regular home. He has excellent house manners. What he doesn't have, yet, is that place where he can lay his tired body next to his loving person and know that this is the place where he can live out his life. And be happy. And loved. We think that a nice cat friend would be a good thing for him. And when spring comes and the outside is warm again, we think he would love a little yard area where he could lounge in the sun and cruise around at turtle speed and explore the place with his nose. Give this wonderful world another chance at being kind of him.

Mowgli, waiting for his last love to come and get him. He's in Anchorage. Give us a call at 907 980-8898
