Mowgli's Story
Please note: Mowgli is ONLY available for adoption within the WNY area. We are not accepting out-of-state applications.

This beautiful Bengal boy was found wandering the streets, skinny and sick, but you'd never guess it now! Mowgli is a needy, affectionate cat who absolutely loves his people. He has lots of energy and will need plenty of playtime, attention, and interaction to keep him happy. He's the kind of cat who wants to be involved in everything you do, and once he settles in, he's a total lap cat! He's not exactly a beginner's cat, so an experienced owner is a must.

Mowgli also has some behavioral needs that his future family must be prepared to work with. He is a territorial cat and must be the only pet in the home. While in a multi-cat shelter environment, Mowgli has exhibited urine marking/spraying, particularly in the evening. We cannot guarantee that this behavior will completely resolve in a home environment, although being the only cat may significantly reduce the territorial stress that contributes to it. His veterinarian has also discussed that Bengals can be more prone to this type of behavior and that medication such as Zoloft may be considered if needed.

For this reason, Mowgli is looking for an experienced Bengal or cat owner who understands that adopting him may require patience, environmental management, and potentially behavioral medication. He needs someone who is willing to work with him rather than expecting a completely problem-free transition.

Mowgli has so much love to give, but he needs the right person who will appreciate his big personality and be committed to helping him succeed. In return, you'll get an incredibly affectionate, entertaining, energetic boy who wants nothing more than to be your one and only!
