Motor - gentle & snuggly's Story

Motor is a gorgeous grey tabby Maine Coon mix boy who is the gentlest soul. When he is happy he has quite the purr motor, which is where he gets his name from. Motor came to Freedom Farm is on a transport from a rural shelter when he was just 10 weeks old. Unfortunately, he had an eye infection that quickly progressed into a severe upper respiratory infection.

When he first got sick, Motor was constantly sneezing, struggling to breathe through all the mucus in his nose and refusing to eat. He has been on many antibiotics and antiviral pills. Motor is the sweetest boy about taking all of his icky medications. He is now 4 months old and feeling much better. He is active, playful and eating well.

However, he is still very wheezy, even when he is sleeping. Motor is scheduled for a polyp removal surgery on Friday, 10/30. If he has a nasal polyp, then this should fix his breathing problems immediately. If not, then this may just be something that he has to live with.

Motor is a very gentle kitten who is comfortable with other cats, calm dogs and older children. He loves to be held and cuddled. He now weighs 4.5 lbs and will be a big boy when he is grown. He is already neutered, tested negative for FIV and leukemia, microchipped, dewormed and had all of his vaccines. His adoption fee is $175. He will need a family that is able to afford extra vet bills if his respiratory condition proves difficult to treat.
