Moostash's Story
Moostash is a sweet, skittish tuxedo cat who spent her first four years of life outside. She's been in her foster home since April of 2024 when we rescued her and her last litter of kittens. She and her sister, Topaz, each had 4 kittens. The sisters raised their eight babies together and all of the kittens have found homes. Now it's mama Moostash's turn!

Moostash is friendly, but life outside has made her very wary of new people. She needs an adopter who can be patient and understand that she needs time to warm up and gets scared easily.

She absolutely loves head scritches and she will come say hi and ask for pets. She is highly food motivated. Churu is her favorite snack and she will push her foster siblings out of the way to get more. When she hears the sound of her wet food being opened she comes running and loves to circle your feet and meow until you give her the plate.

She is very independent, low-energy cat who likes to do her own thing. Sometimes her foster mom won't see her until dinner time! She loves lounging in the window or snuggling into the blankets of an empty bed. She also loves play time and especially enjoys playing with hair ties or a wand toy.

She doesn't like loud noises, fast movements, or being picked up so she needs a calm household with no children and no dogs. She does like other cats a lot but can be territorial so she needs a slow introduction to any feline friends.

She is a special needs kitty because she has a problem with her hips. She has a sway when she walks and occasionally if she gets frightened or runs too fast her back legs stumble. The vet we spoke with said it may be a neurological issue. Thankfully, it doesn't appear to cause her any pain, she has no trouble with the litter box, and she can jump/climb onto low surfaces like couches, beds, cat trees, etc. without problems.

Fill out our adoption application.
