Moony was trapped in the minot air force base area as a non-target cat. Although he was not the cat our trapper was initially trying to capture, he was extremely sociable so we told them to bring him in. Since he was so social, we did an additional post online to see if an owner was missing him. As it turned out, an owner had moved within the past month and moony had escaped during that time. Due to logistics, the previous owners decided Moony would be better suited to rehome than to reunite. He had previously lived with them since a kitten, so Moony did not have the street smarts for living outdoors. Moony had been outside living on his own, fending for himself, for at least 3 weeks. He came to us underweight but happy to be inside. Moony is a talkative guy and very loving to his people. He was adopted December 31st but is being returned to us due to difficulty coexisting with other cats in the home. This was the case even after implementing recommendations by the cat behaviorist we met with to try and help Moony stay in his adopted home. Due to his experience outdoors, his view of other cats has been changed and he feels he has to fight for resources. Moony would likely do best in a home that has no other cats to keep him happiest. Moony has already been neutered.

2. An AEL representative will contact you to schedule a phone call or adoption counsel session.
3. Come to your adoption counsel session to meet the pet you're interested in and ready to take them home with you (dependent on the pet, some need more than one meet)
4. If the pet is determined to be a good fit with your family by both you and the AEL representative, you will sign your contract, submit your adoption payment, and take your new friend home!
