Meet Moon

Hello friends! Who wouldn't want a bit of Moon energy in their life?! This sweet boy is 1 year 9 months young and full...and we mean full of big kitten energy.
Moon is a lovable vocal boy who needs lots of interactive play to dispel some of that energy. Once he's tuckered out, expect Moon to settle in your arms and purr and purr...and purr some more. He may unleash his inner wild kitty during playtime attempting to ambush your arms or legs...but Moon's foster mom has been working with him for several months, and Moon responds well to a stern "No." For this reason, we feel Moon would be his best cat self in a home with older children.

When Moon first came to the Scruffy family, he wasn't feeling well. He had some upper GI and upper respiratory issues. It has been a couple of months, and thanks to the volunteers and his awesome foster Mom, Moon has been on the mend and back to his usual silly, playful self. Moon's uncoordinated behavior, his slightly funny gait, and when talking to him, he tends to respond by tilting his head and almost rolling over; we wonder if these are signs he may have mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia. We simply ask that his new family be aware of his occasional wobbles. He is a happy, healthy...and energetic boy!

P.S. I've heard from multiple volunteers that Moon kisses are the best kisses!

Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

1. Adoption Application
To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application:
- Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/
- Email a copy to scruffypawsanimalrescue@gmail.com
- Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield)
- Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886

2. Veterinary Reference
Please call your vet ahead of time to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team.

3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
The landlord's contact information must be provided if renting so our adoption team can seek approval.

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice.

**Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. We ask you to please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
