Moochie and Tigger's Story
Meet two extremely loving and loveable cats, Moochie (orange boy) and Tigger (stripped tabby). They love hanging out with their foster mama sometimes both trying to squeeze on her lap at the same time! They will sleep on the bed with her and snuggle up against her watching TV. Tigger loves being brushed.

Moochie and Tigger are a deeply bonded pair that must be adopted together. Moochie is 7 and Tigger is 6. They have been together their entire lives. They were surrendered to a humane society because their elderly owner could no longer care for them. At the humane society they were split and Tigger stopped eating. He was in danger of being euthanized. NSNAP took them both in and reunited them. They were very relieved to be back together again and it became clear to us that these two must remain together for life.

When we took them in Tigger was immediately very affectionate craving human touch. Moochie, still traumatized from his ordeal at losing his home and being split from Tigger, needed time to warm up to new humans. It didn’t take long for him to come out of his shell.

A veterinary checkup revealed that they both badly needed dental procedures which we arranged for them to have. Bloodwork revealed that Moochie was positive for FIV. Tigger was not. Despite Moochie’s FIV diagnosis, both Tigger and Moochie have been given a clean bill of health. FIV is transmitted only by very deep bite wounds during cat fights. Because Moochie and Tigger are friends Moochie’s FIV has not been transmitted to Tigger during the 6 years they have been together. Nor will it be because they are friends. Cats with FIV can lead long and healthy lives provided that they live indoors, are given a good quality cat food and are given regular health check ups.

These two are in a foster home and are loving it. Tigger however will on occasion try to provoke the foster mama’s resident cat, whereas Moochie is fine with the resident cat. Tigger wants it to be just him and Moochie. It is best therefore that Moochie and Tigger find a home together that has no other cats. Let it be just Moochie and Tigger.

They are looking for a very special, dedicated home. The home should be a calm one in which their humans are home a lot and enjoy spending time with these two boys who love human contact. Their humans should also be willing to feed a good quality dry and canned food and be willing and able to take them to the vet if and when needed. In return they will shower you with love and affection and you will have the great satisfaction of knowing you rescued these two by keeping them together for life. If you would like to meet Moochie and Tigger please message us on Facebook or email us at nsnap@cogeco.ca. We will be happy to email you an application and arrange for a meet and greet.
