Montana's Story

Montana is a marvel. She was rescued as feral a cat could possibly be from Staten Island, no concept of floors she could not burrow through, much less food bowls, pillows, or blankets. Luckily, she also had no concept of human interaction and every new memory she forms with people will only be positive and nurturing. After witnessing her habits the past couple months, we figure this long-legged leppard was an expert tree climber, fisher, and hunter! She is also a beauty with crystaline prism green eyes, a sweet rosebud smile, and a pair of thick white socks with pink jelly beans.

Everything in the home is new to Montana and she approaches with curiosity and keen observation, but also the caution she knew was necessary in her past jungle life. Even other cats seemed alien to her, so we think she had been alone for a very long time. If she sees you doing something, she will likely ask you to introduce it to her. At first she thought petting may as well have been an attempted attack, but with steady socialization, Montana now loves to hop in your lap for back scratches!

We suggest you set up a bin filled with water and spring toys she can play with in the bathtub. This should be separate from her water bowl in the kitchen so she doesn't make puddles there. She loves spring toys the most, fishing them out of the water and then smacking them across the floor. Magically, she doesn't get the bathroom floor wet as she does this, so we encourage her. We just heard her meow for the first time while playing with her springs! She also loves her shrimp! Cooked and peeled, of course.

Would you like a gladiator to keep you safe from bugs? A bathroom buddy? A cooking companion? Please apply within to welcome this beautiful girl into your heart and home!

Montana is FELV/FIV negative, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.
