Monroe 's Story
Meet Monroe a fluffy, good looking guy along with his housemate, Royal Oak, whose owner was evicted and these two indoor kitties were going to be tossed outside. Animal Control became involved and both kitties were examined. Monroe had been neglected with a severe flea infestation. The infestation is now gone. As you pet him, you'll notice some fur missing on his back. This is from the infestation, but thankfully his skin is healing and his fur is growing back. Now all he is needs is a loving home to make his healing complete!

Monroe is calm, laid back, and unassuming. Even though he may not be the most outgoing cat in the room, he is definitely one of the nicest. He is also very curious and has no problem being the center of attention. He enjoys pets and head scritches. He is very soft and soon his coat will be back to it's once luxuriousness. Having an adopter willing to spend some time each week gently brushing him will go a long way to helping his coat return to its former glory. Monroe is also very motivated by wet food and is always ready to help others clean their plates. Waste not want not is his philosophy.

Monroe would do best with a single person, couple, or family with older respectful kids. Having an adopter who was home more often than not would also be great for Monroe. Monroe could be part of a laid back multi-cat household, one where he can have his own space and not be required to have a kitty friend.

Monroe has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Monroe has an approximate birthdate of 11/05/2020. His adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Monroe or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.
