MONKEY's Story

NEUTERED MALE
APPROXIMATELY 1-2 YEARS OLD

True to his name, Monkey is energetic, playful, curious, and full of personality. Though a little shy at first, he’s made huge strides in foster care and is becoming more confident every day. With patience and playtime, Monkey will be a loving and endlessly entertaining companion.

He would be best suited for someone who:
- Has other cats that love playtime
- Enjoys an extremely playful cat
- Appreciates a chatty, expressive cat
- Can read cat cues and provide gentle guidance
- Offers space and freedom to explore
- Understands the importance of his diet

Monkey thrives in a multi-cat household and truly shines with playful feline companions. He loves chasing, wrestling, and roughhousing and does best with confident cats who enjoy frequent play. Afterward, he’s happy to curl up with a kitty friend for naps and grooming.

Playtime is Monkey’s number one motivation. He’ll chase just about anything: feather wands, squeaky mice, pom-pom balls, Nerf darts, laser pointers, or toes under the blanket. He’s a proud little hunter who carries his “prey” around the house to stash somewhere safe or make a pile on the stairs. He’s happiest when he has plenty of toys, stimulation, and space to burn off energy.

Monkey is very vocal in the most charming way. He announces everything: meals, playtime, litter box visits, and chats with both humans and other cats. If you enjoy a talkative cat with a big personality, Monkey will absolutely keep you entertained!

Monkey can be mildly nippy when over- or under-stimulated. These are affectionate love bites, not aggression. He needs an adopter who understands cat body language and can redirect him. He continues to improve with nail trims, carriers, and handling through patience and consistency.

Monkey does not enjoy being confined, so he will do best in a home where he has room to climb, explore, and move freely. A secure, enriching environment will help him feel confident and settled.

Monkey has been diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), which simply means his digestive system is extra sensitive and needs a carefully managed diet. Monkey now follows a strict diet of hydrolyzed protein kibble along with a small dose of Prednisolone. He happily takes his medication mixed into his kibble every other morning and feels so much better because of it. Monkey will need to remain on his prescribed diet and medication, with ongoing guidance from a veterinarian. With proper management, Monkey is a happy, healthy, playful cat.

Monkey is affectionate, playful, and full of personality, with a few manageable quirks. He’s made incredible progress in foster care and will thrive in a patient, cat-savvy home, especially one with other playful cats. If you’re looking for a high-energy, talkative companion who will keep you smiling, Monkey is your guy!

Monkey has been neutered, tattooed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and has been vet checked. His medical records will accompany him upon adoption.

If you would like to add Monkey to your family, please submit an application using this link: HTTPS://CRPAWS.ca/adoption

Every application is considered carefully by our small but mighty team of volunteers. We will be in touch as soon as possible, normally in 3 days or less.

Please feel free to share these posts. We appreciate your help!
