MONICA<br/>DOB: Approximately 09/22/2024<br/>Female, 6.5 lbs.<br/><br/><br/>Tiny Monica was just a kitten that was left behind when her owners moved away and left her alone to take care of herself. She was scared, didn’t know how to take care of herself, looking for food and a safe place to live. And because her owners didn’t even care enough to have her spayed before they left her on her own, little Monica found herself pregnant when she was just 5-6 months old. <br/><br/>She had nowhere to go and no one to help her. She found a space beneath a loading dock at a warehouse and made a little bed for herself in the newspapers that were there. She was scared. And on June 6, 2025, while curled up alone in the little space under the loading dock entrance, little Monica gave birth to 6 little kittens. When the trucks came rolling in to unload, Monica was scared and she jumped out of her little cave under the loading dock and ran as fast as she could. <br/><br/>When the employees of the company came out after hearing about the little cat that ran out of the space beneath the loading dock, they found Monica’s babies. They left them outside hoping that Monica would come back but she was too scared of all of the trucks coming and going and the noise.<br/><br/>PetPromise same to the rescue of the kittens and set traps that evening in the hopes of catching Monica so she could be reunited with her babies. Within an hour of the warehouse closing, Monica was in the trap. When we took her in, she was as sweet as could be. She stood up on her hind legs to get pets, she rubbed on our legs thanking us for saving her. She was the sweetest girl. <br/><br/>So now, this lovable girl, just a kitten herself, has raised her babies who have been finding homes...and she keeps waiting. She is quiet and gentle. She is still a little shy and is nervous when being held. But she loves pets, loves to follwo you around and will quietly slink up to you and lay with you hoping you will pet her gently and love her too. She is gorgeous and literally not much bigger than you 3 month old kittens! She is a forever kitten! All pets are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted.<br/><br/>We require a home visit as part of the application process. We are only able to coordinate home visits where we have local volunteers.<br/><br/>All of the cats in our care and available for adoption have been rescued from shelters, the streets or from neglect or abuse situations. We do our best to determine the given breed or breeds of any cat or kitten in our program based on our experience and advice of professionals.
