Monica's Story
Meet Monica š¤š¤

Hi, Iām Monica! Iām a beautiful young tuxedo mama with a sweet disposition, a gentle heart, andāas any good mom knowsāthe patience of a queen! šš¾

I recently finished raising my little āFriendsā litter, and Iām happy to report that all of my babies have found their forever homes! I was a wonderful mama, if I do say so myself, but now that my mothering days are behind me, Iām ready for a little pampering of my own. I spent so much time taking care of my babies, and now I'm hoping someone will make me their baby! ā¤ļø

I've recently moved from my foster home into the ARF shelter, where the volunteers are getting to know just how incredibly sweet and gentle I am. My absolute favorite place to be is curled up in someone's lap, soaking up all the love and attention I can get. I'm a BIG purr baby, and it doesn't take much to get my little motor running! I also absolutely love belly rubs. And I'm quite the conversationalist, making the cutest little chirps when I have something to say.

I'm settling into shelter life nicely and have discovered that scratching posts are pretty wonderful! I use the ones in my cat room all the time. I enjoy playing with toys, too, but if I'm being honest, I'd much rather spend my time snuggling with someone who loves me. I'm really just an affectionate girl with so much love to give.

I'm estimated to be almost 2 years old, so I'm still a young girl with a whole lifetime of love ahead of me. I'm already spayed, fully vaccinated, and have completed all my veterinary care, so I'm officially ready to find my forever family and head home!

I haven't been exposed to other adult cats or dogs in a home environment, so my friends at ARF can't say for certain how I would feel about living with them. What they can tell you is that I'm an incredibly gentle, loving, sweet-natured girl who adores human affection.

Now that my kittens have all been adopted, I'm hoping it's finally my turn. I was a devoted mama, but I'm ready to leave motherhood behind and enjoy the simple pleasures of being someone's cherished companion. A cozy lap, a good scratching post, a few toys, and a family to love would make me the happiest girl in the world.

Want to meet me? Come visit me at the ARF shelter! Maybe you'll discover that I'm the missing āFriendā your family has been waiting for. š¤š¤

š¾ Apply to adopt at ARFCT.org

Some very important things you should know when applying:

Our cats/kittens have been fully examined by a vet and are healthy and up to date on all shots/vaccinations unless otherwise noted. Adoption fees for adult cats are $250 ($265 if microchipped by us). Kittens are $275 (microchipped).

What our adoption fees include:

Adult cats have received a wellness exam, fecal exams to test for intestinal parasites, treated for any known/existing conditions to bring them back to health, SNAP tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), and Heartworm. They have also received flea/tick preventative, have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on both their distemper and rabies vaccinations.

For kittens, they have received a wellness exam, fecal exams to test for intestinal parasites, treated for any known/existing conditions to bring them back to health, SNAP tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), and Heartworm. They have also received flea/tick preventative. All cats and kittens have received their distemper vaccination(s) prior to adoption. Young kittens will receive their rabies vaccination at a time appropriate to their age and size (generally it is administered by our vets post-adoption or at the time spay/neuter and microchips are done). The adoption fee for all kittens includes the future administration of their rabies shot, spay/neuter and microchip at the time of spay/neuter by our partner vet(s).

Specifically, if you are looking to adopt a kitten(s):
We are only accepting applications for kittens adopted IN PAIRS (or, singly, if you already have a young friendly cat or kitten of similar age at home for them to bond with). It's vital for proper cat behavioral development that kittens have a friendly fellow kitten or cat playmate at home they can grow and learn from.

For all applicants:
Our volunteers do our very best to match an animalās needs with that of the familyās needs and desires. In an effort to be transparent, please note that we just donāt know how our individual animals, many who have been through prior stress or trauma before arriving at our shelter, will react around young children who are still learning what it means to respect an animalsā boundaries. We are happy to have a beneficial discussion about safety between children and pets. Applicants and their family members arriving for meet and greets will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival and prior to meeting our animals. Please also expect to have at least 2 visits as part of the adoption process at our shelter- one for the initial meet and greet, and one for the adoption appointment if a match is made. Itās important to us that we are properly matching animals to adopters, preparing our adopters for their special adoption day, and for a lifetime of happy pet ownership with your adopted pet.

Please double check your application for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting it to us. Please be as thorough as possible when answering application questions as the more you elaborate, the more information we have to consider, the more likely we are to have a full picture of the care, support, and love our cats/kittens will receive for their adopted lifetime and your particular application will be at the top of our mind when placing cats/kittens in their chosen forever homes. You can complete an application at ARFCT.org and submit it to our email at arfct.adoptions@gmail.com for consideration. Thank you!
