MOMOSA (cc 7244)'s Story

Oh my,,, Oh my..... A mother cat with 8 (yes, we said 8) little kittens was found on South Mountain Reservation last July. Mom was a bit nervous, but the kittens were all fine and dandy - and all 8 eventually found homes. Now we need to find mom a home. We named her "Momosa" - to remind us she came in with kittens.

Now it's her turn to find a loving home. Momosa seems perfectly content to stay at the animal control facility (aka animal shelter), but 'vacations' can last only so long. A cage at the shelter in place to call home, and as much as the volunteers love her, we all know she needs a real home of her own.

Momosa is a young adult, perhaps about a year old - but we'll know more after her return from the vet. Her health exam will include testing for the usual cat diseases (FL/FIV/FIP/FeHW), and they'll check a stool sample for parasites and Giardia. If need be she'll be dewormed, etc. Then she'll be brought up to date on her vaccinations (Rabies Vax/Distemper Vax), and she'll be spayed. We haven't seen any creapy, crawly critters (ie fleas) that may have hitched a ride, but the vet will check for that also. (The vet usually just applies precautionary Bravecto - just in case -- so no matter what they'll be no unwanted guests.) Once she's returned, she'll have a few days to recover from surgery and heal a bit, and then be ready for that home of her own.

If you have any questions, would like more information about Momosa, or if you are considering adoption, you can give us a call (973-736-8689) or email us at WOAWL01@aol.com. ....Or, speak with an animal control officer through the West Orange Health Department at 973-325-4121. Best yet, stop by and take a look. The Township's Animal Control Facility (commonly called The Animal Shelter) is located at 311 Watchung Avenue, West Orange; and is open Monday through Friday 4:30 - 5:30.... .... (Occasionally additional hours can be made with animal control by appointment.)

NOTE: You can come check out Momosa and the other cats and dogs at the shelter during our Adoption Day this Saturday, October 3rd from 11AM to 3PM at the township's animal control facility - 311 Watchung Avenue, West Orange. Stop by and take a look. You might just fall in love.
.........
.........
