Moka (discounted adoption fee)'s Story
Nine-month-old Moka is a petite tortoiseshell who is undeniably cute. We think she may have been abused because, when she was a when she first arrived in her foster home, she was beyond merely frightened. She acted like she was expecting to be struck. When that didn't happen, and she saw that her foster family was going to be nice to her, she gradually became friendlier and more at ease, although still a bit wary in the presence of the sole male member of the home. She even cries when her foster mom is gone too long. When her foster mom returns, it's not long before Moka is curled up on her lap. We think she would therefore do best in a predominantly female home, one in which she will receive lots of attention and playtime, and will not be left unaccompanied for long hours. She is OK with kids, but not particularly interested in them. She does not do well at all with other cats, so she needs to be the sole feline Princess in her home and deserves to be treated as such. In return, she will be a devoted companion for life.

She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Her adopter will receive her full medical records. She’s being fostered in Arlington. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. Moka's adoption fee has been reduced to a mere $195-- a bargain for a new best friend. Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com, preferably with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps us match cats with the right adopters.
