Mojito's Story

Meet Mojito! This sweet kitty's babies have all been adopted, and now she is looking for her new forever family. This lovely lady enjoys gentle interactions. She's a little shy upon first introductions but no worries, she doesn't need any bribes (although she does appreciate her snacks)! It doesn't take long for Mojito to open up and become a social butterfly. When Mojito becomes your friend, she loves attention, being held, and curling up in your lap. Mojito loves love, so we hope you're ready to shower her with affection! Mojito in her spare time enjoys her time up on the tops of cat trees or window perches: happy to soak in the sunlight, listen to the birds, and watch the world go by her windows. She's also daintily playful! She likes kitty scratchers and toys that she can bat at while watching the toys go around in circles. She's now even starting to partake in playing with wand toys, especially if they have feathers!! Mojito is easily handleable and is a lovely kitty. She's been to public events where she greeted everyone with head bumps and purrs. She would be a great kitty for a first time cat owner and we believe she could go to many different kinds of homes. Mojito could be a solo cat, however, she is also great with other cats if you're looking to add another kitty to your family. While she did not like the obnoxious foster family's dog in her face, she surprisingly tolerated the interaction fairly well. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Trash Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy

Typically the potential adopter reaches out either with or without a specific cat in mind. We will usually ask questions about the type of cat the adopter is interested in (any preferences as far as gender, color, personality, etc.), as well as the sort of home the cat would be going to (any kids, other pets, etc.). If we have a cat or kitten who would be a good fit, the adopter can fill out our application for that animal. If not, the person can still fill out the app, and we will keep them if mind if we end up with a cat who we think would be a good fit. Once the app is reviewed/approved (including checking vet and landlord references), we would chat any further with the adopter if needed, and then schedule a meet and greet with them with the cat or kitten. If the animal and the adopter hit it off, the adopter would then fill out our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take the cat or kitten home!

To reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
