Mochi

Mochi is a tiny tuxedo bundle of LOVE with a giant fluffy tail that seems wildly disproportionate to the rest of her medium-coated body. She is confident, curious, incredibly social, and happiest when she’s wherever the people are.<br/><br/>This girl loves attention. She’s a professional lap cat, enjoys being carried around, and has absolutely no problem reminding you that she is available for cuddles at any time. She’ll happily snooze in her own cozy little space when she needs a break, but if her foster human is nearby, chances are Mochi would prefer to be nearby too. She’s generally mellow, with the occasional catnip-mouse play session when the mood strikes. She has even decided that being carried around in a baby carrier is an excellent life choice and has been known to wear her strawberry hat for very important meetings. <br/><br/>Mochi also has a serious soft spot for dogs. In her previous home, she was best friends with a large dog and loved snuggling with him. She is wonderfully friendly with dogs and will happily march right up to one, so her forever home needs a truly cat-friendly, tolerant dog rather than a dog who simply ignores cats.<br/><br/>When it comes to cats, Mochi is happiest with calm, friendly, socially savvy feline companions. She’s still brushing up on her cat etiquette after being away from her original foster environment and can feel overwhelmed by cats who are overly rambunctious or try to bully her. She’s making great progress and is learning how to navigate those feline friendships at her own pace.<br/><br/>Mochi has also let us know that she would prefer a quieter home without very young children. She can do well with respectful older children, but a peaceful environment where she can enjoy her people, her naps, and her dog friends is likely to bring out her very best self. <br/><br/>One important note: Mochi is declawed and will need ongoing, thoughtful care for her paws and toes. Thankfully, she currently shows no signs of pain or discomfort related to her declawing.<br/><br/>And because Mochi is declawed and has no real line of defense, she is not a candidate for an outdoor or adventure-cat lifestyle. This little lady belongs safely indoors, where her biggest adventures can be deciding whose lap she’s going to occupy next.<br/><br/>Mochi has been through a lot of change, and what she deserves now is simple: a kind, patient, committed forever family who will love her exactly as she is.
