Mocha's Story

Mocha is a 9 month old ball of energy and chaos in the shape of a small black cat. He is active and curious, always ready to play and always happy to help with any household task. He takes his human supervision duties very seriously and likes to accompany you around the house. He is highly food motivated and loves treats and puzzles. He’s also very smart, and you will absolutely need to keep the bags of treats hidden away. He likes to get into a bit of trouble, but also listens surprisingly well when you tell him not to do something. He has recently realized how nice snuggles are and will now come and ask to sit on your lap, where he promptly falls asleep and will stay as long as you let him.

He gets along well with all people and all animals and needs an active house with lots of opportunities to play and soak up attention.

Mocha has Feline Herpesvirus (FHV-1), a very common virus that many cats carry. It typically causes mild upper respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, watery eyes, or occasional eye irritation. Like human cold sores, the virus stays in the body and can cause flare-ups during times of stress, but cats live long, happy, completely normal lives with it.

Feline herpesvirus cannot be passed to humans or dogs, but it can spread to other cats, so he would do best in a home with cats who may already have been exposed or as the only cat.

Despite this common condition, Mocha is just as loving, playful, and deserving of a forever home as any other cat!
