Meet Mittens.<br/><br/>We love Mittens! When she came in as a little kitten she was full of confidence and just stormed the kitten room and took over! Sadly, Mittens has just celebrated her one year birthday with us. We can't understand why, except that adoptions are down in general. Mittens is a beautiful little tuxedo and so fun!. She loves the kitty friends in our shelter and would do best to go home with one of her buddies, or into a house that has a playful kitty. She loves children and adults and charms everyone who meets her. And did we mention she's adorable? Once on the website, please select "Download A Cat Adoption Application" and complete the application.<br/><br/>Please email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to verify that we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
