Hutchinson Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
We require you call the shelter to schedule an appointment to meet with our animals. At your appointment you will work with an adoption counselor to find the right pet for you. We do have a short application once you have decided who you are wanting to adopt. Most of our adoptions are completed within the same day. Occasionally Landlords or Veterinary references can't be reached the same day. If the pet is ready to go home then they leave with you at that time. Sometimes the pet might not be ready to leave the shelter and will stay with us until the spay or neuter surgery has been done. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, De-flea-ed, Heartworm tested (dogs) or FIV/Felv tested (cats), and microchipped before going into a new home!
