Miss Rosie's Story

There are cats that are described as diamonds in the rough. If you were to ask Miss Rosie, she would say that humans are the diamonds in need of polishing, not her! After all, she has had to pack her favorite toy mice five times and move to a new home, and nobody even asked for her opinion! Poor Rosie is not sure why she had to move, and we heard it from a reputable source that every time it was not her fault.

Can you blame Miss Rosie for being tired of all the nonsense? She just wants a nice quiet home with a nice quiet person that gives her the insulin she needs twice a day and some personal space. Not that Rosie is a no-touchie kind of gal, she just wants pets on her own terms. The nonsense Rosie is tired of includes other animals and smol humans. She simply prefers a nice, quiet, predictable life. Think of her as the aged grandma cat who likes to sit in her rocking chair and look at the sunset in peace, but also has eyes in the back of her head so she can tell you to SIT UP STRAIGHT! and FINISH YOUR VEGETABLES!

As many older kitties, Rosie’s health is not 100% anymore. She has diabetes, but is easy to medicate and gets treats to distract her from the insulin pen. Rosie gets prescription kibble for her diabetes but is also allowed to feast on regular wet food, her favorite is any kind of pate.

Once Rosie knows she is safe, she does not want to go anywhere again. Since anywhere else includes the vet, Rosie needs gabapentin to calm her nerves before any vet visit.

Rosie may not be the Mrs. Claus type of grandma. But she is the type of grandma cat who will try to raise you right, and make sure you are rewarded with affection when you behave as you should.

Is Rosie the chubby little grandma cat for you? Apply for her here! https://animalalliesrescue.org/cat-application/
The adoption fee is $50 and covers all expenses needed to prepare kitties like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they've already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They've been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on age-appropriate immunizations against rabies and FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus & panleukopenia). Some of our cats have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they're ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
