Miso (FelV plus Pure Sugar Kitty)

Miso is extraordinarily affectionate. His favorite place is wherever you are. He rubs against your legs, gives enthusiastic head bumps, climbs into your lap, and follows his people around just to be close to them. If he decides he hasn't received enough attention, he will absolutely tell you about it! He is a sweet, social, vocal little guy who simply adores humans.

We found this poor baby outside emaciated, anemic, covered in fleas and bite wounds, crying for food and desperate for help. He was in terrible shape, but you would never know it looking at him now! Miso turned around incredibly quickly with good food, veterinary care, and lots of love. He is now healthy, feeling great, and up to date on his vaccines. You may notice a little shaved patch on his leg in some of his photos from where his IV was placed during treatment. Don't worry, his beautiful black fur will grow right back!

We don't know Miso's whole story. We know that at some point, he was loved. He trusts people far too deeply not to have been. And we know that whatever happened to him outside, he barely survived it.

Miso is safe now, and one thing is very clear. This baby never belongs outside again. He needs a home.

Everyone who meets him falls in love with him, including his veterinary team. Even through all his treatments and recovery, Miso has been an absolute angel. He allows medications and handling beautifully and even rocked his recovery cone without complaining. He seems to understand that people are here to help him.

He is also hilariously photogenic. Miso will sit patiently for his pictures as long as the Churu keeps coming. Those are his FAVORITE! He loves curling up in little baskets, and when he's settled into one, you can practically pass the whole basket from lap to lap. Miso doesn't care whose lap it is. A lap is a lap.

Miso is FeLV positive, which means he has Feline Leukemia Virus. We know those words can sound scary, but FeLV does not define Miso. FeLV positive cats can have a wonderful quality of life and deserve loving homes just as much as any other cat. FeLV is not contagious to humans or dogs. Because it can spread between cats, Miso should live as an only cat or with another FeLV positive kitty.

Miso actually seems very interested in other cats. Because of his FeLV status, we don't mix him with our FeLV negative cats, but he clearly wants to make friends. We think he could make a wonderful buddy for another FeLV positive kitty. He is also quite fond of respectful dogs and with proper introductions we can see him becoming best buddies with a dog!

And if he's your only cat? We don't think Miso will complain. He would be perfectly happy being glued to his person and receiving all the snuggles himself.

We can't promise how many years Miso will have. Nobody can. But we can promise that the life he has is worth living and worth loving.

If you've ever considered adopting an FeLV positive cat, please consider Miso. And if you already have an FeLV positive kitty who needs an affectionate, snuggly little brother, Miso would love to meet you.

ADOPTION INFORMATION
Miso is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and has received a clean bill of health aside from his FeLV positive status. He should be adopted as an only cat or into a home with other FeLV positive cats.

Indoor only home required.

Our adoption process includes an application, a brief 30 minute virtual interview, an in person meet and greet, and completion of our adoption contract and adoption fee.

Interested in meeting Miso?
